A psychiatrist becomes obsessed with one of her young clients with multiple personalities...
Grimmfest Says: Exec-Produced by Brian Yuzna and Barbara Crampton (who also co-stars), and written by REANIMATOR and FROM BEYOND screenwriter Dennis Paoli, Joe Lynch’s gory, garish, gender-flipped, gleefully retro-styled riff on THE THING ON THE DOORSTEP owes at least as much to the mischievous, manic, maverick spirit of the late, great Stuart Gordon (to whom it is dedicated), as it does to Lovecraft himself, taking the bare bones of the original tale, and fleshing it out in suitably startling fashion. Combining classic 80s horror tropes, sax-scored 90s-style erotic thriller sex, and contemporary anxieties about identity, and boasting a fearlessly full-on lead performance from Heather Graham, this is a vibrant, visceral, and constantly challenging contribution to the cinematic representation of the Cthulhu Cosmology.
