Two of this summer’s biggest horror films have dropped their final trailers!
An all-star cast fill out the closing act of Ti West’s X trilogy, with MAXXXINE heading to Hollywood.
Here’s the official plot synopsis from A24: “In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. But as a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Hollywood, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.”
Last time we saw Maxine in X, she was the sole survivor of a massacre carried out by elderly couple Howard and Pearl in the Summer of ’79. Mia Goth pulled double duty as the villain Pearl in that movie, who then got her own origin story in PEARL. Pearl and Maxine are different characters, but they share the common goal of wanting to be stars.
This one’s due out in the states next month, I hope we’re not waiting for it as long as we waited for PEARL!
Fede Alvarez (EVIL DEAD, DON’T BREATHE) is revisiting the ultimate in space terror with ALIEN: ROMULUS, due in cinemas this August.
Set between ALIEN and ALIENS, here’s the plot synopsis:
“While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.”
