South African-Canadian filmmaker Neill Blomkamp (DISTRICT 9, DEMONIC) is currently making GRAN TURISMO starring David Harbour and Orlando Bloom, but his next film after that has already been announced!
Variety reports that Joel Kinnaman will star in THEY FOUND US.
The film is described as an alien abduction thriller. Jeremy Slater (writer on the surprisingly good “The Exorcist” TV series) wrote the original screenplay for the film.
In THEY FOUND US, “a father (Kinnaman) and daughter undertake a camping trip in the Utah wilderness to heal their broken relationship. Attacked by a hostile extraterrestrial lifeform, their lives, not just their relationship, are at stake as they fight with a humanoid beast to stop their abduction to an unknown and terrifying alien world.”
Temple Hill Entertainment is on board to produce following their massive success with SMILE.
Temple Hill’s Wyck Godfrey said, “The otherworldly horror and breathless suspense at the center of Jeremy’s script is merely the backdrop for an all too relatable and emotional story of a father and teenage daughter grappling with their differences and working through their estrangement.”
