David Gordon Green talks us through the new EXORCIST: BELIEVER trailer!

September 7, 2023 grimmfest

Universal and Blumhouse’s THE EXORCIST: BELIEVER, intending to kick off a brand new trilogy, recently vacated its planned Friday 13th October release date in the US due to Taylor Swift (not kidding) and will arrive Stateside on 6th October (we’ve got something happening that day too!)

As things stand we’re still due to be tucking into some pea soup on 13th October, and a new trailer was recently unleashed –

Here’s the skinny on the first big screen outing for the EXORCIST franchise since 2005:

“Since the death of his pregnant wife in a Haitian earthquake 12 years ago, Victor Fielding (Leslie Odom, Jr.) has raised their daughter Angela (Lidya Jewett) on his own.

“But when Angela and her friend Katherine (Olivia Marcum) disappear in the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened, it unleashes a chain of events that will force Victor to confront the nadir of evil and, in his terror and desperation, seek out the only person alive who has witnessed anything like it before: Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn).”

Director David Gordon Green (HALLOWEEN ’18, KILLS, ENDS) spoke to Fandango and broke down the trailer in a 10-minute video –
