We’re full of Christmas cheer at Grimm Towers, and the festive season plays host to a whole load of chilly horrors!
Whether it’s killer snowmen, demonic Santas or pissed-off gingerbread men there’s something for everyone when it comes to Christmas horror films and here we take a look at some of the best.
GREMLINS introduced the little terrors to the quiet town of Kingston Falls and changed Christmas forever, we’re showing this stone-cold classic in a double bill with crazy Finnish killer Santa flick RARE EXPORTS on Sunday 15th December @ Mini Cini and tickets are on sale now!
This year saw new genre icon Art the Clown develop an affinity for the season and don a Santa suit in TERRIFIER 3 –
The directors of GOODNIGHT MOMMY delivered another feel-good family fable with THE LODGE, Rachel Nichols is trapped with psychotic security guard Wes Bentley in P2 and a pregnant woman goes through a night of unspeakable horror in the excellent French horror INSIDE.
Pleasant gatherings turn to terror in KRAMPUS, SILENT NIGHT and THE CHILDREN, and a psycho Santa wants it to be Christmas every day (just like Wizzard!) in CHRISTMAS EVIL – what a title.
Grimmlins will recall festival hits like home invasion horror BETTER WATCH OUT and zombie musical ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE, and we’re showing them both in a double bill on Sunday 15th December @ Mini Cini!
Bob Clark’s 1974 flick BLACK CHRISTMAS is the big daddy of Christmas horrors, as Olivia Hussey and Margot Kidder are terrorised by a naughty caller named Billy. Shout out to the underrated 2006 remake of the film which is a nasty piece of work.
Before HOME ALONE there was DEADLY GAMES aka DIAL CODE: SANTA CLAUS, as a young boy booby traps his house to protect him from a psycho dressed as Saint Nick and there’s another psychotic Santa in the form of Billy (that name again!) in SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT which caused controversy back in 1984.
Dan Haggerty uncovers a Neo-Nazi plot in ELVES and if you play THE SACRIFICE GAME (another Grimmie!) it may result in a very dark Christmas.
No discussion of Crimbo horrors is complete without JACK FROST, not the Michael Keaton one! The killer snowman one –
