An anthology of 16 brand new shorts, running the genre gamut from Sci-Fi to horror, all thematically focused on abortion rights and bodily autonomy. A massive ensemble of female filmmakers gathered in unprecedented fashion to use their creative voices at a crucial moment in history. This is art for survival.

Grimmfest Says: Sometimes the Horror Genre is pure escapism; sometimes it’s a pressure valve, a means by which to face our darkest fears. And sometimes it’s a means of exposing, confronting and challenging real life horrors. GIVE ME AN A is very much in the latter category. Assembled and Exec-Produced by Grimmfest favourite Natasha Halevi, it’s a punchy portmanteau of 16 short pieces in which various women filmmakers and writers respond to the recent overthrowing of Roe vs Wade in the USA, and the subsequent rollback on women’s self-determination and reproductive rights. Ranging from broad black farce to sour satire, sci-fi to body horror, social realism to surrealism, and throwing in a laconic history lesson, and even a few musical numbers, it’s a surprisingly controlled howl of fury, a furiously focused fist in the faces of repressive legislators and mealy-mouthed, morally self-righteous hypocrite politicians, that demands your attention and support.
